Listen, is there anything scarier than a relationship horror story? Forget about ghosts or backrooms, the things humans can do are far more terrifying. Plenty of these horror stories have gone viral on TikTok and we’ve compiled a few of them here. It’s tough out here for women in particular; it’s why we choose the bear. But the more we learn, the more awareness we’ll have of potential red flags and hopefully dodge as many bullets as possible. So, let’s dive in:

Reesa Teesa – Who the F Did I Marry?

TikTok user Reesa Teesa (@reesamteesa) shared one of the most jaw-dropping relationship horror stories we’ve ever heard. In her 50-part series "Who TF Did I Marry?" that went viral for a reason, garnering over 22.8 million views, she breaks down her relationship and who her ex-husband really was. Picture this: you’re married, life’s good, and then—boom—you find out your partner has been a pathological liar this entire time. We’re talking a made-up job, fake phone calls with siblings and employees, a fake backstory, and so much more. Reesa’s story involves a series of gut-punching discoveries that would give anyone trust issues. It’s the kind of relationship horror story many women are, sadly, familiar with—finding out that the person you married isn’t who they claimed to be. It’s like living in your own personal thriller, but it’s not entertainment, it’s real life.

Liv – Ditched in a Mexican Jungle in the Middle of the Night

Imagine being abandoned by your partner, but not just anywhere—in the middle of the Mexican jungle at night, without a phone. That’s exactly what happened to TikTok user Olivia Stabile, known as Liv (@livvvy.louu), and her now ex-partner Sedona Prince. In what started as a vacation to Mexico, paid by Liv to celebrate Sedona’s birthday and try to have a good time together, Liv experienced one of the most terrifying moments of her life.

In her series of TikTok videos, she describes an emotionally and psychologically abusive relationship that reached its boiling point in Mexico. Long story short, Sedona convinced Liv to go on an ATV ride in the middle of the night with no phones. Then, she drove into the jungle and Liv alleges Sedona pushed her off the vehicle and rode off. Sedona came back for her, but that was only the start of a nightmare vacation that ended in their breakup.

KATenacious – Her Husband Cheated on Her with Her Mom

Okay, this one might take the cake. TikTok user KATenacious (@katenacious) shared her jaw-dropping story in a video that immediately went viral: she found out her husband cheated on her with her mom. Let that sink in for a second. Not only did she have to deal with the heartbreak of infidelity, but it was with her own mother. This is the kind of relationship trauma that’s almost too wild to believe—except it really happened and it’s someone’s reality. KATenacious’s TikTok series details how she confronted the situation and how she’s healing from it. What a strong woman!

CP Chaotic Storytimes – He Ghosted Her While on Vacation

What’s worse than being ghosted? Well, being ghosted while on vacation, for one. TikTok user CP Chaotic Storytimes (@chanzandchill) took to TikTok to tell her story of a romantic trip gone wrong. Picture this: you're on a vacation with a guy you just started dating, and suddenly, they disappear—no texts, no calls, no explanation. Not only is it rude, but it’s also a logistical nightmare. How do you explain that to people back home? This TikTok story is a reminder that being ghosted is bad enough, but when it happens while you’re supposed to be having fun together, it’s on a whole new level of brutal.

Layne – Stargazing Date Turned Scary

Let’s close this list up with something a little more lighthearted but still quite scary. TikTok user Layne (@loiis.layne) shared her story about a night of stargazing with a guy at a state park that went from potentially romantic to downright scary in no time. The TLDR is that Layne is afraid of heights, so she couldn’t climb up the tower from where they were supposed to watch the stars. The alternative was going to the woods, but as soon as Layne notices they seem to be trespassing on someone’s land, she asks to leave.

But when they start walking back to the car, she can feel someone intensely watching them. Suddenly, they hear rustling and someone throws a rock that lands right in front of their feet. At that, she bolts out of the woods. When her date catches up, they drive back and, luckily, nothing happens. Here’s the kicker, though: they were the last people to come into the park, so the person must’ve already been there. What were they doing? Waiting for someone to come along? But why and what were they planning? We guess we’ll never know, and it’s better that way.

Dating and relationships aren’t all bad, but these stories definitely remind us they can sometimes take a sharp turn for one reason or another!

Thanksgiving is such a weird holiday.

As far as my knowledge goes, not a lot of people in Latin America celebrate it but many are aware of this U.S. holiday. As a native Salvadoran, growing up I remember that I thought it was weird to have a holiday that’s a day to just be thankful. We perceived it differently. Later I realized what Thanksgiving actually commemorated: a day to celebrate, but to celebrate how European colonizers had taken advantage of Native Americans.
